Queen Of Disaster

This is my second inspiration post in a row and and some might think this resembles a lot the last one because my style inspiration is so colorful and bright, but I guess I've always loved colors, so it's understandable.

If I had to qualify this second inspiration in a few words I'd say: Queen of summer. This style is very summery and festive, and includes things like crowns, flowers, pastel colors (as usual!), vintage clothing, fairies and glitters. But this whole "Queen" look can also be turned into it's opposite: a sort of goth princess look with black lipstick and heavy makeup. This look says: I am a strong independent woman, which I feel like lately.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Kitsch

I've been inspired by 90's kitsch for a while now, but I finally decided I really want to incorporate it in my everyday fashion. I also love the weird futuristic style that was created in the early 2000's with the rise of Internet. I'm saying all these wonderful things, but I guess I should elaborate a little. Basically, for 2014, I will inspire myself by glitter (as usual!), metallic wear, pastel colors, fluorescent aliens, children's tattoos and dinosaurs. But let's not forget other aspects of the nineties, like the Riot Grrrl movement and the grunge trends. And let's not forget the amazing Spice Girls! Basically, anything colorful and playful, but also a little faux punk rock will be welcomed this year.

There is another part to this inspiration post, so stay tuned to know about what my future outfits will look like.

Fiction, When We're Not Together

I was really excited for the holidays to come because that meant I'd get to dress in a festive manner and  create extravagant outfits I'd only wear inside. However, I went away on the first day of vacation and I dressed the same for 6 days straight. Can you imagine the horror! This had never been seen in the history of Imogen before! When I got home though, I quickly slid into a classy outfit and put lipstick on to compensate for my disastrous fashion statement. I mean the outfit wasn't that bad but the fact that I wore it none stop made it horrible. This is why I have promised myself to dress as well as possible until the New Year. I also should find my camera charger, so I can share my outfits with all of you.

Oh! and by the way, happy Hanukkah, merry Christmas and happy Kwanzaa!

Have You Got Colour In Your Cheeks

Winter has arrived and my motivation to dress well has disappeared. I just want to curl up in a ball and hibernate until the warm weather comes back. The cold weather isn't nonetheless an excuse to not have a good time. Lately, I've been dressing to be practical for the first time of my life. I've been going to many parties and I discovered that there's a certain dress code to have a good time. Firstly, no dresses or skirts: they are too much of a hassle when you try to move around. Secondly, don't wear clothing you like too much. You can wear clothes you like, but not your favorite items, because you don't want to accidentally stain them while you're having fun dancing around. Therefore, the best thing to do is wear a t-shirt and pants which is sadly very boring. Here are my latest acceptable outfits. I actually really like them even though it's simple.
